Prescott Kayakers: Where do you paddle most and why?
By ktcosmos on Jul 9, 2008 in Kayaking, Other Sports
I ran into an old teaching colleague yesterday and she said that she has been paddling at Lynx Lake so she can catch glimpses of the eagles that nest there.
Another friend told me that she prefers tiny, little Goldwater lake.

Hi — I don’t kayak, but my granddaughter who was recently visiting brought me a batch of pictures of kids taking kayak lessons in inflatables out at Granite Basin Lake.

I’d love to see some of those pictures. I was paddling on Watson last weekend when I saw several kids with old fashioned inflatable raft, as in what you would float on in a swimming pool, out in the middle of the lake. In fact, a couple of boys were sitting on a rock, mid-lake, reinflating their raft that had gone flat. Now, that kind of inflatable isn’t recommended on Watson!

Darrell,
Around here you used to be able to take lessons at the YMCA or Yavapai College. Also, you can rent a kayak and just head out and try it.
Good luck and let us know how your adventures on the water turn out.
