Knitters of all experience levels and interests are invited to haul your needles over to the Prescott Farmers Market on June 13 and 20, 2009, from 7:30 till noon.

We knitters love to find one another at yarn shops, on Ravelry, Twitter, at sporting events, and wherever crowds are gathered. To celebrate World Wide Knit In Public Day (WWKIP), twice, and get to know other knitters in our area, let’s gather to knit and sip while taking in the sites and sounds of our very own home town Farmers Market.

Look for us under the canopy of the Community Booth (thanks to Erin Lingo, director of the Farmers Market). On the 13th we can just get acquainted, exchange information, laugh, and enjoy meeting some new friends. On the 20th, let’s come back together (and bring some friends!) to work on a group project to benefit Stepping Stones:  little hats and blankets of all sizes and types are what Stepping Stones needs for the children who pass through their shelter.

Did you know we have two great yarn shops right here in Prescott? If you need to stock up before you come to our KIP event  visit A Good Yarn (220 W. Goodwin, corner of Goodwin and Granite) in downtown, or stop by Studio Three (1440 W. West Gurley). Also, a weekly vendor new to the Prescott Farmers Market during the 2009 season is Peaceful Prairie Ranch, local alpaca growers AND a local source for alpaca yarn. You’ll want to visit the booth of Wendy Dittbrenner while at the Market.

Bring: your knitting, a chair, sunscreen, and $ to shop at the market. If you are a knitting instructor, designer, or retailer, bring some fliers and business cards to hand around.
