Around town at year’s end

Out with the old and in with the new, right?
When a favorite dining establishment closes its doors it’s unsettling and sad but we all know another will soon throw open those same doors and welcome the usual rush of curious diners.
That’s happening in Prescott now and we bid adieu to some old favorites, but look forward to hearing about the places YOU dine and drink in town so that visitors can find their way to some non-chain happy meals.
A couple of rumors we’ve heard involve the location formerly known as “Roosters” on S. Montezuma, soon to be opening under new ownership by a certain local pizza man… true or false?
Also closing up shop is “Roasters,” forever my favorite downtown latté provider, and I didn’t even use up my punch card. A new owner will be settling in there in a few weeks, so look for that and continue to get your Roasters brewed elsewhere around town.
Let’s hear what you’re missing and liking right now.
I’m so excited to try out Bill’s Grill, but bummed to hear that Monks is (or already has?) closing when I just found out what a lovely brunch they had. At least my favorite Cortez shop, Snap Snap, is still open – good motivation to clean out my closet for the new year

We tried Bill’s Grill on Friday (saw emily there!) and had a great early dinner. Heavy emphasis on local and organic but hearty: burgers and more. Hagen Dazs ice cream used in shakes had me at the door.
Finally got out to “Good to Go” which is on the ERAU flightline in a really cool looking mini quonset hut style structure with tall windows and nice views. Great for breakfast or lunch.
