We could all use a lift; get out and dine locally!

Here are a couple of upcoming events involving food. What a great way to greet the end of the summer!

First Annual Dishcrawl Prescott

When: August 13
Time: 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm
Where: Once you buy your ticket, you’ll be notified 48 hours prior to the event where to go: the restaurants participating remain secret until then.

Dishcrawl itself isn’t a local company (it’s based in San Jose, CA), but every Dishcrawl event is hosted by a local resident employed by the company who serves as “ambassador.” You’ll dine at four restaurants with the other ticket holders during a sort of walking tour around downtown. My fingies are crossed that the venues on the tour are locally owned.

More about this event can be found on Dishcrawl Prescott’s Facebook page and Twitter Feed. Sounds different and fun, right?

Mortimer Family Sweet Corn Festival

When: August 17 and 18, in Dewey.
Time: 10:00 am to 9:30 pm.
Where: 12907 E. State Route 169 Dewey Az
Technically this isn’t in Prescott, but the Mortimers do own Mortimers Nursery in town on Willow Creek Road, so we’re going to let this slide. And, since I’m originally from Iowa and this is all about corn, I’m in!
