When Ideas Take Flight

An idea that is developed and put into action is more important than an idea that exists only as an idea.” (Buddhist quote)

Good ideas are common – what’s uncommon are people who’ll work hard enough to bring them about” (Ashleigh Brilliant)

Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life – think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success, that is way great spiritual giants are produced. (Swami Vivekananda)

One great idea here in Everybody’s Home Town is the Prescott blogger meetup I attended yesterday. GrannyJ started these awhile back and deserves multiple pats on the back for keeping them going. On a snowy Sunday afternoon, who knew that over twenty folks would make the drive for the chance to chat with other local bloggers for two hours over over guacamole and chips?

Catalyst posted some picture of the blogger event here. (Will be updating blogroll later as a tip ‘o the hat to those I met.)

One good idea deserves another, and MY big idea of the day is this: how glorious would it be if some ordinary folks came together to solve some local problems. A non-partisan, group welcoming people of all ages and orientations, who would meet occasionally to brainstorm ways to improve life for others within our community.

Call it a Brain Trust or a Think Tank or an Idea Generator.

Interested? Let’s talk. Or, who knows, I may be giving you a call!
