PMUG: Prescott Mac User Group

pmug1.jpgI was introduced to our local Prescott MUG (Mac User Group) when new president Jim Hamm got in touch and invited me to be a guest presenter at a meeting.

Jim, along with outgoing President David Passell, and all the other officers and members made me feel most welcome. Dan Simpson saved the day by running home in time to get an adapter needed to make my presentation with with the group’s projector.

The group, which has been around for almost 20 years, meets the 3rd Saturday of the month at the Prescott Public Library at 10:00 a.m. Participation is open to Mac users (and PC users who are interested!) of all levels and interests.

Membership benefits are posted on the group’s website. One such benefit is access to the club’s terrific library of books, displayed at right and below. Librarian Randy Calvert hauls the library to and from every meeting! Even though I was a guest, Jim Hamm invited me to check out any book I might want to borrow.

If You Go:

pmug2.jpgIf you decide to check out the PMUG group, visit their calendar of upcoming meetings AND plan your parking carefully. While the meetings last two hours, you need to allow time to get in and out of the parking lot which limits you to two hours. You can park on neighborhood streets as long as you’re healthy and can manage walking that hilly part of downtown Prescott.
