I volunteer at both YRMC and the Salvation Army and think both are truly worthwhile. But I'm an amateur musicion (cello)and would like to become involved in getting students interested in playing instruments. I was involved with the Musical Memories program last Spring and was very excited to see how enthusiastic the 5th graders I worked with were about listening to, and playing music. Any ideas??

My mother was born, raised and died in Prescott in 1979, when I was 15. Her parents and grandparents owned the property on Farmer's lane and rented out the houses her father built there. The railroad used to go up Gail Gardner to Iron Springs, but the tracks were long gone when I roamed the area. My Grandpa Crotts owned the Borden's Dairy off Iron Springs Road, about where the stoplight is now. After that land was sold out of our family, my siblings and I have had frequent dreams of our idyllic childhood there. I've finally returned to give my children similar dreams.

Hi Jan,

There are tons of craft fairs and festivals! Every local has his or her favorite (mine is the Acker Musical Showcase the first Friday in December).

Check the city's website, in the visitors area, for links to some community event calendars: City of Precott.

And, visit the Prescott Chamber of Commerce event calendar: Chamber of Commerce

Does Prescott have any other craft fairs and/or festivals? I spent a lot of time in Prescott when I was growing up. It was for trail rides and the rodeo or visiting friends.

I hope there are other events throughout the year.

Thank You!
